Œuvres de la collection • Works from the Collection

June 17 - August 14, 2010
Opening: June 17, 2010 6PM

This exhibition aims to bring together a diverse selection of work, historical, modern and contemporary, from the Collection. In uniting these works we hope to provide a space for new readings, views and connections, as historical works are seen in relation to contemporary ones and vice versa. As well as representing a wide span of art history, the work in this exhibition oscillates between the figurative and abstract, allowing viewers to inhabit an area amid the concrete and the indefinite, providing an opportunity for their imagination to wander and make unexpected leaps, as viewers impose their individual contemporary experiences and concerns on the eclectic selection of works.

This exhibition includes work by, Valerie Blass, Gustave Courbet, Stanley William Hayter, Dil Hildebrand, Jauran, William Kentridge, Thérèse Mastroiacovo, Alfred Pellan, and Giovanni Battista Tiepolo.
