Choses simples: Œuvres de la Collection / Works from the collection

June 22 - August 13, 2011
Opening: June 22, 2011 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Battat Contemporary is pleased to announce our next exhibition Choses Simples: Works from the Battat Collection. Predominantly composed of works on paper, Choses Simples was organized with the idea of the sketch in mind: the playfulness, experimentation, the idea behind the idea. Though some works are obviously more developed than others, they were brought together to provide variety, a breadth of interests and to draw out links between works that span over 6 centuries.

Artists included: David Hockney, Julie Merhetu, Roland Poulin, Lady Oswald, Ed Pien, Éric Demazières, Sue Dery, Berthe Morisot, James Abbott Mc Neil Whistler, Francis Picabia, Katsushika Hokusai, Stanley William Hayter, William Kentridge, Jacques le Moyne de Morgues, Adrian Norvid, Henri Michaux, John J.A. Murphy, Alfred Pellan, Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot and Giovanni Boldini.
